Parking Violations

• Parking unregistered vehicles on campus.

• Parking a vehicle in a lot assigned to another classification of users (including a prohibition against students who are family members of those with faculty /staff privileges from parking in faculty/staff areas).

• Improper display of registration sticker or permit.

• Exceeding the speed limit on campus. The speed limit is 10 MPH and 15 MPH.

• Ignoring or disobeying any posted sign, traffic device or barricade.

• Operating a motor vehicle (including motorcycles, motor scooters, all terrain vehicles, bicycles or mopeds) without University authorization on sidewalks and walkways.

• Operating a bicycle in a careless or imprudent manner that endangers any property and well-being of any person or individual.

• Parking in the following No Parking zones:

  • Loading Docks

  • Service and access areas

  • Within 15 feet of a fire hydrant

  • Intersections

  • Roadways or vehicular areas in such a way as to obstruct traffic

  • Designated pedestrian walkways

  • Grass or lawn areas

  • Handicapped areas, unless authorized

  • Fire Lane

  • Yellow Painted Curbs

• Display of visitor's permit by faculty, staff or student

• Display or possession of a parking permit that has been reported stolen or lost.

• Unauthorized parking in reserved parking spaces.

• Abandoned motor vehicles.

• Repairing of vehicles:

  • Only university-owned vehicles, with the exception of emergency repairs, is permitted on university property
