The May Commencement Ceremony is set for Saturday, May 12, 2012 at 1:45 p.m. at the Smith Library Plaza, located on the Main Campus.

The rain date for the ceremony will be Sunday, May 13, 2012 at 10 a.m.

All graduates and their families should be sure to read the Commencement Guide, located under "Graduation Details". This guide contains all of the details regarding the commencement ceremony, deadlines, the MAPP Exam, rehearsal and other various upcoming events in conjunction with graduation. Please be sure to read it very carefully.


APPLYING TO GRADUATE:

The graduation application isĀ available in Web Advisor. No changes will be accepted after the application deadlines below. Please direct any questions to Valerie Taylor in the Registrar's Office at 540-665-4537.

Application deadlines:

  • December degree conferral--October 1
  • May degree conferral--March 1
  • August degree conferral--July 1

Graduates RSVP directly on the graduation application in Web Advisor.


PARTICIPATING IN MAY'S COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY:

Shenandoah University does not hold a December commencement ceremony; however, December graduates may participate in the main commencement ceremony in May 2011.


SAVE THE DATE...GRAD FINALE 2012

Grad Finale will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11, 2012, in the Ferrari Room in the Brandt Student Center.

Grad Finale will deliver convenience to students as they prepare for graduation by streamlining the graduation contact points for May and December Shenandoah University graduates and offices.

Graduates will have the opportunity simplify their graduation process by:

  • picking up their caps and gowns
  • purchasing S.U. memorabilia
  • ordering graduation announcements
  • meeting with Alumni Affairs
  • checking in with Financial Aid and Student Accounts
  • learning about opportunities through Career Services
  • having their photo taken by Grad Images in their cap and gown
  • socializing
  • door prizes
  • and much more!

All graduates should plan to attend.
