Shenandoah Conservatory announces DMA Teaching Assistantships for 2010-2011

The award includes a tuition waiver up to 18 credits, a $9000 stipend, and assistantship responsibilities of approximately 9 hours per week instructing in applied areas. Application screening begins April 1, 2010.

Professor of Music Thomas Albert has been named the Charles B. Levitin Endowed Chair in Music Theatre at Shenandoah University. Shenandoah Conservatory Dean Michael Stepniak made the announcement during a faculty meeting on January 25.    

Shenandoah's application for the iPod touch and iPhone features university maps, calendar events, directory and sports scores. It is now available from the Apple iTunes Store.
    

Shenandoah University President Tracy Fitzsimmons has announced the appointment of Michael Stepniak, Ed.D., as the next dean of Shenandoah Conservatory, effective July, 1, 2009.
    

SU announces the creation of the Charlotte A. and Verne E. Collins Endowed Professorship made possible through the generosity of James R. Wilkins Jr. and the James R. Wilkins Charitable Trust and by the action of the board of trustees.

SU's Shenandoah Conservatory awarded an honorary doctorate to world-famous dancer Mikhail Baryshnikov on Friday, Sept. 28, during a fund-raising gala at the Workhouse Arts Center in Lorton, Va.

Shenandoah Conservatory
After years of hard work, Bobby landed a leading role in Broadway's Toni award-winning "Jersey Boys," playing Nick Massi in the musical, the story of Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Famers The Four Seasons. Spencer, who now stars on Broadway in "Next to Normal" is nominated for a Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical. He delivered the commencement address at his alma mater on Mother's Day, May 10, 2009, and received an honorary doctor of fine arts degree.
