Academic Advising in the College of Arts and Sciences

Students enter Shenandoah University from many different geographic areas and backgrounds. Academic advisors are available to assist students in successfully completing their chosen program of study. In the College of Arts and Sciences, students begin with a freshman advisor in their chosen field or one closely related to it. Students meet in weekly colloquia with these advisors for their first semester. Following that semester students will be assigned a permanent advisor in their field of study. Advisors also assist students with obtaining internships in their fields, applying to graduate school, or applying for employment within the field.
