I enjoy the conservatory atmosphere at Shenandoah, where all students have the desire to be working professionals in their fields. Success as an artist requires dedication, and I find that quality in all of our students.

Professional Highlights

  • 2014 has been busy - presenting two jazz dances at the Jazz & Tap Dance Festival in Annadale, VA; the publication of "Jazz Dance - A History of its Roots and Branches" to which I contributed four chapters; staging a jazz piece and a new tap piece for the SU Spring Dance Concert; presenting a jazz dance commissioned by the Jazz Roots Dance Company of NYC in many NYC venues; teaching and choreographing for La Bella Vita Arts workshop in Livorno, Italy; presenting my Matt Mattox research at the Jazz Dance Symposium in Dallas, TX; guest teaching for "Summer Stock" at the Joy of Motion Dance Center in Washington DC, where I created two new theatre dances for All That Jazz and Jersey Boys; and now being invited to present my choreography for the Oct 2014 NY Jazz Choreography Project in NYC and the VelocityDC dance festival in Washington, DC.
Personal Highlights

I enjoy music, theatre, the performing arts, cars, spending time at the beach, and traveling to Europe to give dance workshops.
