Shenandoah University hosts its 24th Annual Children's Literature Conference, "Reading: It's a Guy Thing: Hooking Boys on Books," on June 29 through July 3.

Shenandoah University will host its 24th Annual Children's Literature Conference, "Reading: It's a Guy Thing: Hooking Boys on Books," on June 29 through July 3. The program offers teachers and librarians the best that children's literature has to offer. Shenandoah University has invited a talented array of incredibly talented authors and illustrators, whose books are checked out over and over again by young readers, to present their stories, their humor and their art. Confirmed authors and illustrators will include Jon Scieszka, Ralph Fletcher, Jarrett Krosoczka, Jack Gantos, Jim Murphy, David Macaulay, Gordon Korman, Jerry Pinkney, Kevin O'Malley and Chris Crutcher.

The Children’s Literature Conference explores challenging ways in which educational practitioners can encourage students of all ages to enjoy a lifelong journey of reading. During the conference, participants can attend morning sessions with the featured authors and artists. In the afternoon, participants can choose to attend small group workshops, classes and/or roundtable discussions that will help energize new ideas for how to create a passion for reaching in the classroom.
