The Marketing and Communications Design and Creative Services Team visually differentiates the institution's brand and messages within a crowded marketplace. Design is the term we use to describe both the process and the result of giving tangible form to human ideas.
The marketing and communications staff interacts with colleagues to discover and clarify core ideas and messages and translates them into visual form. We explore user experiences and employ insights from the social and behavioral sciences to craft design outcomes that communicate clearly, consistently and effectively.
As part of the creative process, the Office of Marketing and Communications manages photography services for electronic and print publications.
Many people believe the only task of design is to provide styling to the visual appearance of a message. Good design, whether it appears in print or electronic form, not only achieves the desired visual effect but can inspire and shape stakeholder beliefs and expectations for quality and excellence.
In creating interactive digital environments, our design is grounded in effective communication. This means displaying qualities of beauty as well as functional clarity and efficiency.
