A degree or certificate in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) is designed to prepare graduates to teach English to speakers of other languages in any instructional environment. Programs include the Master of Science in Education: TESOL, the Advanced Professional Certificate in TESOL, the Professional Certificate in TESOL, and the Professional Studies Certificate in ESL. Successful completion of the 33-credit master's degree program results in the highest academic credential that is normally held by professionals in this field. All Shenandoah University TESOL courses are delivered completely online.

Through the use of state-of-the-art online instructional technology, the SU TESOL program provides professional educators with the necessary knowledge and skills to teach English to speakers of other languages anywhere in the world. In addition to acquiring the knowledge necessary to be effective teachers, graduates of this inquiry-driven program exhibit both sensitivity and caring in their approach to teaching English as a second or foreign language.
