The only degree of its kind in the United States, Shenandoah's Musical Theatre Accompanying program is for the talented pianist with an interest in popular musical theatre. Firmly grounded in the Conservatory's well-established tradition of professional music preparation, the curriculum takes advantage of the equally strong theatre and music theatre offerings. Students in the Musical Theatre Accompanying program have ample opportunities to hone their skills and expand their repertoire as they are involved in the Conservatory's intensely active theatre schedule. Good theatre pianists are in great demand in the music theatre world, and Shenandoah's graduates are well prepared to claim their place as rehearsal accompanists, vocal coaches, pit keyboardists and even music directors.
