The following lists admissions requirements for the Graduate Education Programs. All programs initially require the Shenandoah University graduate application and a $30 application fee.

Professional Certificate in TESOL

This program admits for spring and fall semester and requires:

  • A completed baccalaureate degree
  • An official transcripts from all post-secondary schools attended or from which credit was received
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • A writing sample

Advanced Professional Certificate in TESOL

This program admits for the spring and fall semesters and requires:

  • A completed baccalaureate degree
  • Official transcripts from all post-secondary schools attended or from which credit was received
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • A writing sample

Professional Studies Certificate in Teacher Licensure

This program admits for the spring, summer and fall semesters and requires:

  • A baccalaureate degree
  • Official transcripts from all post-secondary schools attended or from which credit was received
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • A writing sample
  • Praxis I test scores

Professional Studies Certificate in Administration and Supervision

This program admits for the fall semester and requires:

  • A completed baccalaureate degree
  • Official transcripts from all post-secondary schools attended or from which credit was received
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • A writing sample
  • A copy of a current and valid teaching license

Professional Studies Certificate in Reading

This program admits for spring, summer and fall semesters and requires:

  • A completed baccalaureate degree
  • Official transcript from all post-secondary schools attended or from which credit was received
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • A writing sample
  • A copy of a current and valid teaching license

Professional Studies Certificate in Special Education

This program admits for fall, spring and summer and requires:

  • A completed baccalaureate degree
  • Official transcript from all post-secondary schools attended or from which credit was received
  • Three letters of recommenation
  • A writing sample
  • Praxis I test scores

Master of Science in Organizational Leadership

*We are currently accepting applications to this program for our Winchester campus only.

This program admits for fall, spring and summer and requires:

  • A completed baccalaureate degree
  • Official transripts from all post-secondary school attended or from which credit was received
  • Three letters of recommendation

Master of Science in Education - Individualized Focus

This program admits for the spring, summer and fall semesters and requires:

  • A baccalaureate degree
  • Official transcripts from all post-secondary schools attended or from which credit was received
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • A writing sample

Master of Science in Education - TESOL

This program admits for the spring and fall semesters and requires:

  • A completed baccalaureate degree
  • Official transcripts from all post-secondary schools attended or from which credit was received
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • A writing sample

Master of Science in Education - Emphasis in Teaching

This program admits for the spring, summer and fall semesters and requires:

  • A baccalaureate degree
  • Official transcripts from all post-secondary schools attended or from which credit was received
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • A writing sample
  • A copy of a current and valid teaching license

Master of Science in Education - Reading Specialist

This program admits for the fall semester and requires:

  • A baccalaureate degree
  • Official transcripts from all post-secondary schools attended or from which credit was received
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • A writing sample
  • A copy of a current and valid teaching license

Master of Science in Education - Administration

This program admits for the fall semester and requires:

  • A baccalaureate degree
  • Official transcripts from all post-secondary schools attended or from which credit was received
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • A writing sample
  • A copy of a current and valid teaching license

Doctor of Education in Administrative Leadership

*We are currently accepting applications to this program for the Northern Virgnia campus only.

This program admits for the fall semester and requires:

  • A master's degree with a GPA of at least 3.5
  • Official transcripts from all post-secondary schools attended or from which credit was received
  • Three letters of recommendation

Doctor of Professional Studies in Organizational Leadership

*We are currently accepting applications to this program for the Northern Virgnia campus only.

This program admits for the fall semeter and requires:

  • A master's degree witha GPA of at least a 3.5
  • Official transcripts from all post-secondary schools attended or from which credit was received
  • Three letters of recommendation
