2011-2012 Graduate Applications & Auditions

 

Complete the Shenandoah University Graduate Application for Admission. All programs initially require the Shenandoah University graduate application and a $30 application fee.

Shenandoah Conservatory Graduate Program Admissions Requirements 

Applicants must prepare for their audition by following the Shenandoah Conservatory Graduate Audition Guidelines.

Complete the online audition registration form to be scheduled for a live audition or to submit prescreening materials. 

Audition registrations will close February 1, 2012.
A schedule for auditions will become available February, 3, 2012.

Applicants are welcome and encouraged to submit application materials and register for the audition concurrently. Admissions decisions will not be made until all application materials have been received.

GRADUATE DEADLINES & ADMISSIONS CALENDAR

Voice pre-screening deadline:

January 15, 2012

Submit materials using the Shenandoah Conservatory Digital Dropbox. Based upon the outcome of the pre-screening, prospective students will be invited to campus for a live audition.

 

Doctoral Conducting pre-screening deadline:

January 30, 2012

Submit materials using the Shenandoah Conservatory Digital Dropbox. Based upon the outcome of the pre-screening, prospective students will be invited to campus for a live audition.

Registration deadline for Graduate Audition Days

February 1, 2012

 

Graduate Audition Days:

February 11-12, 2012

Shenandoah Conservatory hosts Graduate Audition Days in all performance areas. Tentative schedule will be made available by February 1, 2012.

 

Recorded Auditions:

Applicants who live more than 250 miles from the Shenandoah University campus have the option to submit a recorded audition. It is strongly recommended that applicants verify the distance requirement with their admissions counselor prior to submitting a recorded audition.

 
Applicants submit a video recording electronically through Citizen Groove. This online service provides a simple method for uploading recordings via the Shenandoah Conservatory Digital Dropbox. Videos must be prepared following the Shenandoah Conservatory Audition Guidelines and may be produced with home recording equipment; studio-quality recording is not necessary. We will NOT accept any other type of recorded audition. Recorded auditions must be submitted through the Shenandoah Conservatory Digital Dropbox.

FINANCIAL AID 

Shenandoah Conservatory strongly recommends that all entering students submit a FAFSA to the Shenandoah University Office of Financial Aid.
Additional information may be found at finaid@su.edu.

Financial aid awards are made once a student is fully admitted to the university.

All students accepted to graduate programs at Shenandoah Conservatory are encouraged to apply for a graduate assistantship or doctoral teaching assistantship.  To apply send a letter of interest and current curriculum vitae to Dr. Karen Walker, Associate Dean for Graduate Studies, kwalker@su.edu.
