Women in Mathematical Sciences Institute

Mathematical Sciences Initiative (WIMSI) is a program at Shenandoah University designed to encourage young women to pursue educational and vocational paths in the mathematical sciences. The components of the program include:

  • free summer camps targeted at middle and high school age girls;
  • a mentorship program
  • and scholarships.

Funding is provided through the contributions of a private donor and Shenandoah University. Overseeing the program design and implementation are Dr. Darren N. Bly, Physics and Dr. Cindia Stewart, Mathematics.
