Scott Musa is in his 16th year at Shenandoah and his 14th as the
Hornets primary media contact.
A 1992 graduate of the University of Notre Dame, Musa came to SU
to be an assistant men's lacrosse coach. After two years of
coaching, former AD Dave Dutton named Musa the department's first
full-time SID.
In 1999, he was promoted to assistant athletic
director.
In this role, Musa is in charge of publicity for all of the
Hornets 18 intercollegiate teams and the athletic web site.
He is a member of both the College Sports Information Directors
of America (CoSIDA) and the Virginia State Sports Information
Directors Association (VaSID) and serves as president of
the latter organization.
With CoSIDA, Musa serves on both the Academic All-America and the Site
Selection committees. He is also the chair of the USA South Conference
Sports Information Directors committee.
As Assistant AD, Musa serves the NCAA as the chair of the Division III
South Atlantic Region Women's Lacrosse Committee. In this role,
Musa assists the NCAA in selecting the 25-team national championship
field and has direct oversight of the national championship.
On campus, Musa serves on the Student Retention
and Programs Council at the University and is a voting member
of the President's Executive Council.
Musa has been honored by the university twice for staff
excellence. In 1999, he won the Wilkins Award and in 2002 he was one
of three staff members to be recognized with a special award by the
chairman of the Board of Trustees.
