Samuel Karns

Sam returns to the cross country roster after a two year hiatus.  A quiet but fierce competitor who leads by example, he will be looked to for leadership and guidance with this young team.  His knowledge of various courses and terrains are a valuable asset to this inexperienced, yet talent laden team. 

As a senior:  returned after almost two full years away from the team...competed in every race recording a new PR of 41:17 in the Dickinson College Invitational... provided a veteran outlook to an otherwise fledgling team...  As a junior:  ran in only a single meet as he was plagued by illness for much of the season...  As a sophomore:  finished with a personal best 41:22 good for 38th in the Dixie Conference (1998).  As a freshman:  best finish was 42:51 resulting in 31st place in the Dixie (1997).
