MURFREESBORO, N.C. (January
8, 2001) - The SU women's basketball gained its
second straight victory of the new year Monday
afternoon, defeating Chowan College 59-53. SU (5-4)
gained a season split in the season series with
the Lady Braves, as Chowan (6-6) won the first
meeting of the year 59-54 in Winchester on
December 9.
Sophomore Adina Trammel (Leesburg,
Va./Loudoun County) led the Hornets in the win.
She turned in her third double-double of the
season with a game high 18 points and 13 rebounds.
She was backed up by sophomore Christine LaTouche
(Elkton, Va./Spotswood) and junior Wendy Legge (Stephens
City, Va./Sherando), who contributed 12 and 10
points, respectively.

The Hornets are off until
Saturday, when they open Dixie Conference play
with a home game against Christopher Newport
University. Tip-off is set for 2:00.
