ASHLAND, Va. - The women's
basketball team dropped its sixth straight game
Tuesday night, losing 79-60 to Randolph Macon
College before 175 fans at Crenshaw Gymnasium in
Ashland. Shenandoah (8-14) found itself behind 46-29
at the half despite a career high 17 points from
junior Roseline Fisher (Greencastle, Pa./Hagerstown
CC) and was unable to cut the deficit below 15 at
any point in the final 20 minutes of play.
The win comes in the first
meeting between the two schools since Macon (12-10)
took a 91-74 victory in the first round of the
NCAA Tournament on February 28, 1996.
Junior Wendy Legge (Stephens
City, Va./Sherando) was the only other SU player
in double figures besides Fisher, who did not
score in the second half. Legge finished with 12.
Meredith Roberts had 19,
Allison King 14, Cristin Ethridge 12 and Rachel
Kifer 10 for the Yellow Jackets. R-MC has now won
three straight over the Hornets.
