Men’s
Lacrosse Thrills in Opening Victory
WINCHESTER
,
Va.
– The Shenandoah University men’s lacrosse team christened
Shentel Stadium in its own way Saturday afternoon with a 15-14
victory over Centenary College.

(1-0) scored four of the first five goals of the contest but found
itself in a dogfight with the Cyclones (0-1) after they tied the
game at 7-7 with five goals in second quarter.
From
then on, neither team would lead by more than a goal until SU took a
15-13 lead midway through the fourth. CC rallied to come within one,
but junior Dave Behan (Holtsville, N.Y./Sachem) rejected a point
blank shot to earn his 12th save of the game and preserve
the victory for the hosts.
Junior
Chris Keller (Smithsburg, Md./Smithsburg) led the way for the
Hornets posting four goals and four assists while fellow attackman
Matt Burton (Ashburn,
Va./Woodbridge

winning 17 of 22 faceoffs—good enough for second all-time in a
single game at SU—while scoring five points on two goals and three
