– The SU golf
team stands 12th after shooting 340 on day one of the
Ferrum College Tournament at the Water’s Edge Golf Course in
Smith
Mountain
Lake.
Shenandoah
is eight strokes behind 11th place Lynchburg
and six strokes
in front of 13th place Ferrum heading into Tuesday’s
final round competition. After competing at the Par 72, 6906 yard
Water’s Edge on Monday, the tournament shifts to the Waterfront GC
on Tuesday.
Senior
Jason Aud (Mount, Airy, Md./Frederick CC) and sophomore Byron Pitts
(Nokesille, Va./Homeschool) led SU on Monday with a pair of
nine-over-par 81s. They are tied for 27th, seven strokes
off the lead.
