– The Shenandoah University women’s lacrosse team opened its
2002 season Sunday afternoon with a 12-0 loss to Division II St.
Vincent College.
SU (0-1) found itself
down just 3-0 at the half against the Lady Bobcats (1-2), but could
only muster three shots in the final 30 minutes of play.
Hannah Doblick led
St.
Vincent
with five goals while
Renee Straub added two goals.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Bridget Robbins (Baker, W. Va./East Hardy) kept the Hornets in it
for most of the contest with a career high 22 saves.

kept the SU softball team winless this spring with a 11-2 and 20-1
Dixie Conference doubleheader sweep.
Shenandoah (0-12, 0-6)
was victimized by seven errors in the two games; Averett (7-5, 3-1)
scored 10 unearned runs off of those seven miscues.
Senior Amanda Long (Antwerp,

/IPFW)
and junior Nikki Braithwaite (Winchester,
Va./James
Wood) each had two of the Hornets nine hits on the day. Long also
added an RBI in game one.
