Baseball

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W. Va. – The SU baseball team dropped its third straight game Tuesday afternoon with 19-2 loss to Division II Shepherd College.

SU (7-13) saw the Rams (9-2-1) take a 10-1 lead after two innings and cruise to the easy win. Shenandoah did not help its own cause by making six errors; Shepherd capitalized on these six miscues to score 11 unearned runs.

The Hornets scored single runs in the second and fifth innings on a solo home run by Tommy Delaney (Fairfax Station, Va./Hayfield) and an Paul Diggs (Waynesboro, Va./Waynesboro) infield single, respectively.

Delaney had two of the Hornets four hits; he was 2 for 2 with the RBI on the home run.

Shenandoah is back in action again on Wednesday afternoon with a non-league game against Southern Virginia .


Golf

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The SU golf team finished third Tuesday afternoon at the Virginia Wesleyan tri-match by shooting a 341 over the par 72 Kiskiak Golf Course in Williamsburg.

Senior Jason Aud (Mount Airy, Md./Frederick CC) led SU with a nine-over-par 83 while Kevin Richards (Denville, N.J./Morris Knolls) was one stroke behind Aud with an 84.

Virginia Wesleyan won the match with a 314 and Apprentice second at 332.

SU is now off until next Tuesday when they host Apprentice in a dual match.
