– The SU women’s tennis team saw its three match winning streak
snapped Thursday afternoon with a 5-4 loss to
Hood
College

Down 2-1 after the
doubles matches, SU (3-2) rallied with wins at the bottom three
singles spots. Unfortunately, Sakiko Horikawa (
Chiba
,
Japan
/SHOWA)
fell just short in her bid to pull off the victory with a win at
No.1 singles. Horikawa, playing in the top singles spot due to
regular No.1 Jen McNeal’s absence, lost 5-7, 6-3, 4-6 in her first
action at No. 1 this spring.
Senior Rosaline Fisher (
Greenscastle

Pa.
/Hagerstown
CC) and freshman Alison Campbell (Magnolia, N.J./Sterling) were both
double winners for the Hornets. Fisher won 5-7, 6-2, 6-0 at No. 4
singles and
Campbell
6-4, 6-3 at No. 6 singles. The two women also combined for an 8-4
victory at No. 3 doubles.
