Men’s Tennis
WINCHESTER, Va. – Bridgewater
College spoiled the SU men’s tennis team bid for its first win of
the season Tuesday afternoon with a 8-1 non-conference victory.
Sophomore James Ham
(Burke, Va./Northern Virginia CC) was the only winner for Shenandoah
(0-5). Ham defeated John Carlson 10-5 at No. 2 singles.
Bridgewater
improved to 2-5 with the win.

Softball
HARRISONBURG

– The softball team also remains winless this spring after Eastern
Mennonite swept a doubleheader 9-6 and 9-2.
SU (0-16) held a 3-0
lead in game one before Eastern Mennonite (2-12) stole the victory
with two runs in the fifth and seven more in the sixth.
Sophomore Lesley Beard (Youngstown,
Ohio/Austintown
Fitch) was 3 for 4 with two runs scored while Amanda Long (Antwerp,
Ohio/IPFW)
and Shanel Fisher (Lutz,
Fla./South
Florida)
each had two hits in four at-bats.
Game two was halted by
rain after four innings; EMU controlled the contest by scoring six
runs in the first three frames.
Nikki Braithwaite (Winchester,
Va./James
Wood) and Jodi Milburn (Winchester,
Va./Lord
Fairfax)
drove in one run apiece.

Mary Washington on Wednesday for another non-league doubleheader.
