WINCHESTER, Va. – The SU
golf team earned its first dual match victory of the spring Thursday
afternoon as the Hornets defeated Apprentice School 323-332 at
Winchester Country Club.
Senior Jason Aud (Mount
Airy,
Md./Frederick
CC) and sophomore Byron Pitts (Nokesville,
Va./Homeschool)
each shot an eight-over-par 79 to lead the Hornets to the victory
over the 6341, par 71 WCC course.
Apprentice’ Larry Smith
earned Medalist honors with a seven-over-par 78.
Shenandoah will meet
Apprentice again in its next match; SU travels to Ford’s Colony CC
for a tri-match with the Builders next week.
