Women’s Soccer and Volleyball Both Lose

WINCHESTER, Va. – The SU women’s soccer team was once again held scoreless Friday afternoon as Gallaudet University took a 4-0 non-league victory.

Shenandoah (0-2) was outshot 18-9 as the Bison (1-2) took a 3-0 lead after 45 minutes of play. Freshman keeper Dana D’Agostino (Wantage, N.J./High Pointe Regional) had 11 saves for SU.

The Hornets are in action again on Sunday when they travel to Lynchburg to take on Sweet Briar College.

 


Women’s Volleyball

 

LEXINGTON, Va. – The women’s volleyball team also was unsuccessful Friday evening; SU fell to host Washington & Lee 3-0 (30-24, 30-13, 30-18) and Catholic University 3-0 (30-18, 30-17, 30-18) in the first two rounds of the Washington & Lee Invitational.

Junior Carly Higbee (Catlett, Va./Liberty) and freshman Jenny Gray (Sumerduck, Va./Liberty) both had  a team high 13 kills while senior Brandy Kuykendall (Winchester, Va./James Wood) 25 assists and 14 digs. Gray chipped in with 13 digs of her own, as did classmate Hannah Williams (Salem, Va./Glenvar).
