WASHINGTON,
D.C. – The men’s soccer team held a two goal advantage with less
than 15 minutes to play Tuesday afternoon only to see Catholic
University storm back to take a 3-2 victory three minutes into
overtime at DuFour Field in Washington.
Shenandoah
(6-2) received goals from Akmed Mansaray (
Alexandria
,
Va.
/TC
Williams) in the 72nd minute and Will Scott (
Chesapeake
,
Va.
/Great
Bridge) four minutes later, but CUA (4-1) tied the game at two with a
pair of goals of their own in the 78th and 84th
minutes.
Catholic,
the No. 10 team in the South in the latest NSCAA poll, then completed
the comeback when Gregg McGuirl tallied an unassisted goal three
minutes into overtime.
Both
Shenandoah losses this season have come in overtime and after the
Hornets held the lead.

two Tuesday afternoon as the Hornets fell to Randolph Macon Woman’s
College 6-0.

(1-7) was held without a shot in the contest.
