LINCOLN, Pa. – The men’s soccer team won its second game in two days in fine fashion Sunday afternoon; SU pounded Lincoln University 8-0 in non-league action.

With the win, Shenandoah (9-4) has assured itself of the program’s best record since a 13-4 campaign in 1997. The victory is also the 80th of Head Coach Rob Kulton’s men’s soccer tenure. He now has 106 total SU wins, 26 of which came with the women’s program from 1991-93.

SU wasted little time in jumping on Lincoln ; sophomore Manuel Barcia ( Fairfax , Va. /Oakton) scored the first of eight Hornets goals on the afternoon when he headed home a feed from Will Scott ( Chesapeake , Va. /Great Bridge) and Guy Auguste ( Chesapeake , Va. /Va Wesleyan) in the 10th minute.

Kulton’s club then added goals in the 18th, 26th, 37th, 50th, 62nd, 73rd, and 83rd minutes to secure the blowout victory. Scott and Auguste both finished with a goal and an assist. Keepers Brian Cline ( Woodstock , Va./Central) and Alex Lane ( Chesterfield , Va. /Meadowbrook) had to make just one save (by Lane midway through the second half) to share the shutout.

SU travels to Emory & Henry on Wednesday. The men are not at home again next Sunday afternoon when they host NC Wesleyan. Game time for that game is 1:00 .
