Pelster
has a 438-442-3 collegiate
volleyball
coaching record in stints
at
Northwest
Missouri
State,
Pittsburg
(Kan.) State, William Woods and
Shenandoah
universities. At NWMS, Pelster became the winningest coach in school
history while also seeing her team earn American Volleyball Coaches
Association (AVCA) Academic Award in six of the past eight years. To
receive that award, the cumulative team GPA must be at least 3.3 GPA
on a 4.0 scale.
In 2004, Pelster led
the Hornets to a 17-18 overall record and a fifth place finish in
the USA South Conference. SU had a fourth place finish at the PSU-Behrend Tournament and had two players (senior Hannah Williams
and freshman Christina Greene) earn All-USA South honors. The two
honorees gives Shenandoah a tie for the most ever in one season in
program history.
Following the season,
Williams was honored as a ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District
III pick and earned the Coca-Cola Community All-American.
Additionally, the team achieved a program first when they were
honored with the AVCA Academic Award.
In August 2004, Pelster
assumed the duties as the department's Senior Woman's Administrator
and was promoted to Assistant Athletics Director in August 2006. In
those roles, Pelster serves on the senior departmental
administrative staff and is the primary point person for the Title
IX issues.
