Lois Bowers has just completed her fourth year as
the Head Women's Lacrosse and Field Hockey coach at Shenandoah.
Bowers came to Shenandoah from Gettysburg College, where she worked
from 1969 until she took early retirement in 1992. From 1978-92,
Bowers served as the Bullets women's lacrosse and field hockey
coach, the position she now holds at SU. Bowers also served as GC's women's
athletic coordinator from 1984-92.

Bowers
was 99-69-3 in those 14 seasons at Gettysburg while also winning 103 games and the 1980 national championship in field hockey. In
her first season at SU, Bowers led the team to a .500 (6-6) record,
which had not been accomplished by the women's team since 1998, and
its second ever Dixie Tournament semi-final appearance. Also,
freshman Joia Davis
earned Dixie Conference Rookie of the Year honors and was later named to
the Division III All-Rookie Team by
www.womenslacrosse.com.
In 2005, Bowers' Hornets turned in
their most successful season in 10 years of intercollegiate women's
lacrosse. SU finished the year with an 11-5 overall record and after
wins over Ferrum, Christopher Newport and Methodist in the USA South
Tournament, won the program's first ever USA South Conference
