THANKSGIVING BREAK BEGINS NOV. 20 FOR STUDENTS

Thanksgiving Break begins for students after their classes on Tuesday, Nov. 20. Residence halls close at 7 p.m. Nov. 20, and reopen at noon on Sunday, Nov. 25. Administrative offices are open on Wednesday, Nov. 21.

Students who must stay beyond the 7 p.m. closing must go to the Office of Residence Life in Cooley Hall to notify staff. Students who must stay in a hall at any time during Thanksgiving break should contact the Office of Residence Life no later than noon, Monday, Nov. 19, and do the following: Pay a $10 flat fee at the Business Office that covers staying on campus through the break, and take the receipt from the Business Office to the Office of Residence Life in Cooley Hall, Room 216.

Students who are required to be on campus over break for classes, student teaching or athletic practices or games are exempt from the fee. However, the Office of Residence Life needs confirmation from faculty or supervisors regarding students who fall into one of these exempt categories. Athletic coaches will provide lists of student-athletes to Residence Life.

The Department of Public Safety will go through halls over break. Any student found in the residence halls after 7 p.m. who has not been approved for Thanksgiving break will be fined and disciplinary action will be taken. Students are encouraged to take their valuables with them when they leave for breaks.

The Allen Dining Hall will not scan I.D. cards after lunch on Tuesday, Nov. 20. The first meal plan meal after Thanksgiving break is breakfast Monday, Nov. 26.
