The Shenandoah University women’s basketball program enters a new era today, Nov. 15, when it opens the 2012-13 season with a non-league game at Wilkes University. Not only will the Hornets officially take the court for the first time as members of the ODAC, the squad will be under new leadership for the first time in seven years.

C.K. Calhoun, a former assistant at Frostburg State, Marymount and Randolph-Macon, was hired in August to become just the third full-time coach (and 10th overall) in program history. Calhoun will lead five returners and seven freshmen into the first full season in the ODAC, a league that Calhoun has worked for the past two years.
