All faculty members are invited to submit proposals for the Going Global First-Year Seminar to be taught in fall 2013 on MWF, from 2 p.m. – 3 p.m. Course content is completely open, as long as the three learning outcomes are achieved and the mission statement is understood as integral to the course. Faculty are encouraged to develop innovative courses related to their area of academic expertise that may be developed for incoming first-year students.
Each FYS section receives a budget for field trips, guest speakers or outside material to enhance the class experience. Each professor is assisted by a trained student mentor intended as a liaison between the FYS faculty member and the students. All FYS faculty will receive iPads or iPad Minis, and will receive $250 to attend training in May to learn how to use iPads in the classroom.

Proposals are due Friday, Jan. 11, 2013. For more information and a proposal application form, contact Director of General Education/Going Global First-Year Seminar Amy Sarch, Ph.D., at
