GIVE JUST THREE HOURS OF TIME TO HELP AT “WATTS”

For the past two years, Shenandoah students have volunteered with the Winchester Area Temporary Thermal Shelters (WATTS), providing food and fellowship for community neighbors who are without homes during the coldest months of the year. WATTS sets up at area churches on a rotating schedule, and guests stay overnight. The first WATTS of the season is at the Welltown United Methodist Church in nearby Clearbrook, on Sunday, Dec. 2, and the next WATTS is on Sunday, Dec. 9, at the Sherando Presbyterian Church in Stephens City. Volunteers from Shenandoah are needed for only three hours – from 6 to 9 p.m. – each night. For more details or to volunteer, contact the Office of Spiritual Life at spirituallife@su.edu.
