As the end of 2012 approaches, please note the due dates below to ensure the appropriate receipting of year-end gifts from donors.
Gifts by credit card must be processed through the bank by Dec. 31. Our online service provider does this automatically when a gift is made at Per IRS regulations, gifts received through the mail must be postmarked by Dec. 31 to qualify as 2012 deductions.
According to university policy, all gifts are to be forwarded to the Office of Advancement within three business days (same day is always preferred) via hand-delivery or campus security, but never via campus mail. You may also deposit gifts with the Business Office, as they forward those to the Office of Advancement for processing. Please be timely with your gift deposits so we may steward Shenandoah University donors properly and adhere to IRS guidelines for year-end tax-deductibility.
Advancement staff are available throughout the holiday break to assist donors with their giving preferences. Information on ways of giving may be found at  as well as the “Give to SU” link at the top right of the homepage. Please direct individuals with questions to either of these options or to Associate Vice President for Advancement Vicky Medlock, at 540/539-1930 or
