Head Men’s and Women’s Tennis Coach Larry Hubbard announced the captains for his two programs today, Dec. 19. Sophomore Shannon Allin will be the captain for the women’s team and senior Michael Milanov will be the captain for the men.
Milanov, who returned to the team after taking last year off as he transitioned into the Doctor of Pharmacy program, has earned 38 career victories in his Shenandoah career split equally between singles and doubles. In 2009-10 and 2010-11, he was named honorable mention All-USA South.
Allin had a 9-7 singles record in 2011-12 in her freshman campaign with all 16 singles matches coming at the No. 2 spot. She posted an identical record as one-half of the No. 1 doubles team and she was named as the USA South Conference Rookie of the Week one time last season.
“I am very happy to have Michael and Shannon as our captains,” Hubbard said. “They are leaders not only on the court, but in the classroom as well. I look forward to having them lead our teams this spring in our first seasons of ODAC competition.”
The Shenandoah women open on Feb. 2 with a home match against Shippensburg University, with the men starting one week later against Shepherd University.
