Head Women’s Soccer Coach Liz Pike announced her 2013 schedule. The Hornets will have nine home games on the 2013 slate, including six in ODAC play. The schedule opens on Aug. 30 with a non-league home match against the University of Mary Washington. Following that game against the traditional power Eagles, Pike’s club hosts Marymount University on Sept.1, before traveling to Gettysburg College on Sept. 4. The Gettysburg game is the first of three straight away contests for Shenandoah, as the Hornets play in the Capital University Tournament on Sept. 6 and 8. Another night game, against Dickinson College, on Sept. 11, completes the non-conference portion of the schedule.

Shenandoah will host Randolph College, Hollins University, Lynchburg College, Guilford Collegey, Virginia Wesleyan University and Randolph-Macon College in ODAC play. The Randolph-Macon contest is regular season finale on Oct. 30. Virginia Wesleyan, on Oct.17, kicks off Homecoming Weekend. The Hornets visit Emory and Henry University, Roanoke College, Eastern Mennonite University, Bridgewater College, Washington and Lee University and Sweet Briar College to round out the league slate.

“We once again have a non-conference schedule to prepare us for ODAC play,” said Pike. “I was very happy with the way we finished the year (appearing in the conference semifinals) and we want to build upon that finish.”
