Audencia Nantes School of Management in France and Shenandoah University in the United States, expanded on an existing partnership with a joint assignment in their respective graduate human resource management courses during the Fall 2013 term.
The exploratory pilot assignment utilized an international case study and was structured so that MBA participants worked in virtual, multicultural teams. The point of the assignment was to give students a simulated experience in working as part of a global virtual team, which has become more common in the workplace since the 2008 economic downturn.
The course faculty members at each institution, Dr. Christine Naschberger of Audencia and Dr. R.T. Good of Shenandoah, will present a paper at the World Association of Case Research and Application summer conference. Their paper will establish the rationale for such a pedagogical design, describe the assignment structures selected and explore the lessons learned from the pilot implementation.
