The Harry F. Byrd, Jr. School of Business at Shenandoah University will host its Seventh Annual Business Symposium on Thursday, March 19, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Halpin-Harrison Hall on the campus of Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia, for members of the local and regional business communities, as well as students of the university.
The theme of this year’s Business Symposium is “Passport to Success: A Global Perspective.” The event is designed to inspire and educate attendees from for-profit and nonprofit organizations. Students can enhance their classroom experience through direct exposure to the diverse community of business professionals and speakers that are the heart of the symposium.
“This event has grown to become the area’s largest business symposium because we provide a tremendous amount of learning, inspiration and value added to the business and nonprofit community at a very reasonable cost,” said Miles Davis, Ph.D., dean of the Harry F. Byrd, Jr. School of Business.
Now in its seventh year, the Business Symposium has increased in attendance every year, garnered prominent keynote speakers, and hosted a sellout crowd in 2014.
The 2015 keynote speaker is businessperson, humanitarian, and retired NBA professional basketball player Norman Nixon. His experience in professional sports, entrepreneurism, television and philanthropy will captivate and inspire.
Attendees can choose from an array of dynamic breakout sessions focused on current business issues and best practices that will help put today’s rapidly changing business climate in perspective and provide practical tools, tips and techniques to use now in organizations. There are many networking opportunities and registration includes refreshments, a gourmet lunch and a wine and cheese reception.
Visit www.subusiness.org for more information, pricing and to register. As a result of generous sponsorships, including title sponsor First Bank, all high school and college students wishing to attend the Business Symposium may do so free of charge.
