COLLEGES AGAINST CANCER REQUESTS SURVIVOR STORIES

Every spring, Colleges Against Cancer of Shenandoah University hosts Relay For Life. The overnight event brings together teams to honor and celebrate cancer patients, those who have passed away from cancer, survivors of cancer and caregivers.Throughout the year, Colleges Against Cancer of Shenandoah University raises money for the American Cancer Society. On the evening of Relay for Life, the organization joins with other teams to walk for the cause.

The Relay For Life committee has already started planning for the 2013 event, and asks that students, faculty or staff members who are currently battling cancer or who are cancer survivors share their stories with the committee. Without you, the organization would have no reason to celebrate, and the Relay for Life organizers wish to keep survivors and current cancer patients in mind as they plan the event.

Cancer is a terrible battle to endure, but Colleges Against Cancer of Shenandoah University wants you to know that you don’t have to fight it alone. If you are comfortable sharing your story, please contact Marie Clary at mclary08@su.edu or Jean Manuel-Tayag at jmanuelt08@su.edu.
