Corcoran N. Holt began his performing career at an early age. He attended high school at the Duke Ellington School of the Arts in Washington, D.C., later earning a bachelor’s degree in jazz studies from Shenandoah and a maser’s degree in jazz studies from Queen’s College. Throughout his career, he has worked with several jazz legends at venues across the United States — including a live performance at the Lincoln Center—and at music festivals and sponsored tours in Africa, Europe, Asia, Central America, the Caribbean and Canada. He was a semi-finalist in the world-renowned Thelonious Monk Bass Competition in 2009. Corcoran maintains an active performing and recording schedule and resides in Brooklyn, N.Y., where he teaches bass privately.
