Sodexo, the food service provider for Shenandoah, has launched a great service for students and employees who are on the go or who want to control food portion sizes. It’s also ideal for individuals who want to reduce waste.
You can make a one-time purchase of a to-go divided food container ($5) and/or a one-time purchase of a to-go mug ($3). These items are available for purchase at the Allen Dining Hall cashier stations.
After purchasing a food container, pay for your meal with Flex, cash, check or credit, fill the container, and take it with you. (For health reasons, you should eat the food within an hour.) When you return to the cafeteria with the food container, give it to the cashier, who’ll give you a clean container. There is no limit to how many to-go meals you can pack after your initial $5 payment to join the “Choose to Reuse” program and paying for each meal. And, every time you take the used container to Allen Dining Hall, you’ll be given a clean, sanitized container.
PLEASE NOTE: The to-go containers are just that. You may not eat a meal in the cafeteria AND fill a to-go container. For more information, contact [email protected] or talk with Food Service Manager Peter Labrecque when you’re in the caf.
