Everyone who hangs printed materials in campus buildings should know the university’s policy published in the Undergraduate Catalog (page 118) and the Graduate Catalog (page 94). It applies to everyone – students, employees and outside businesses. It reads:
“Individuals,organizations and businesses that want to post printed material of any kind on Shenandoah University property or within Shenandoah-operated buildings must first obtain written approval from the Student Life information coordinator in the Brandt Student Center.”
The Student Life information coordinator is Cathy Kuehner, whose office is Room 208, behind the Information Desk. She reserves the right not to approve printed material that contains inappropriate language or images or material that promotes behavior that conflicts with Shenandoah’s standards.
After posters and flyers have been officially stamped “approved,” they may only be placed on appropriate bulletin boards or grip-strips. Posters and flyers may not be tacked or taped on drywall nor attached to any surface in ways that will cause damage to the surface.
