Carl Roskott's Violin Concerto Friday, February, 17, 2012
Carl Roskott's Violin Concerto is presented at 8 p.m. in Armstrong Concert Hall. Assistant Conductor of the Richmond Philharmonic Orchestra Paul Kim will present a 40-minute conducting lecture on Roskott’s “Concerto for Violin Solo and Orchestra.” Faculty member Akemi Takayama, violin, will play the 33-minute concerto. This will be the first performance of this concerto since its premiere in 1986. It's a romantic and modern work full of beautiful melody, deep emotion and humor. FREE
