The Shenandoah Conservatory SU(PER)cussion Ensemble, directed by Associate Professor Earl Yowell, (former principle timpani/percussion of the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra). It is a dynamic music group devoted to all facets of percussion music performance. In addition to the fall and spring concerts, the ensemble presents an annual Percussion Showcase concert of solos, duos, and trios. The SU(PER)cussion Ensemble performs contemporary music, world music, music theatre, music and dance, and premieres of new percussion compositions. In addition to the fall and spring concerts, the ensemble presents an annual "Percussion Showcase" concert, consisiting of special and unique musical projects.
In addition, the ensemble regularly works with internationally famous percussionists, such as drum set artist Will Calhoun, and William Cahn of the Nexus percussion group.
The Ensemble also does regional touring, performing at colleges, high schools, and PAS Days of Percussion.
