| Audition
Requirements

The application is a two-step process. Potential students must apply
to the University and complete an audition for the Dance Division.
For information on applying to the University, click on the following
link to the University
Admissions. If you apply on-line (see link, below), make sure
you also phone Admissions to schedule your audition: 1-800-432-2266.
When you call, ask to be transferred to Marjorie Sobczynski, the
Conservatory Admissions Officer.
Prospective
students participate in technique classes (ballet, modern dance
and jazz) and perform a two to three minute solo dance (applicant's
or teacher's choreography in ballet, modern or jazz style; transfer
students must choreograph their own solos). CD/cassette player is
available to play applicant's accompaniment. Two current photographs
(a headshot and a side view of first arabesque position) must be
included with the application. Applicants are strongly encouraged
to audition on campus, but a videotaped audition may be arranged.
