Fall Guitar Concerts at Shenandoah Conservatory

Sept. 6- Performing his first concert at Shenandoah, Joseph Pevorero will present a concert of all Italian music. Joseph has won competitions and awards and is on the faculty at the North Carolina School of the Arts. His latest CD, Sonatas Rom‡nt’cas, features music by Ponce, Gluliani and Moreno-Torroba.

Oct. 11- Duo Cappricioso returns from Germany for another wonderful concert of music for mandolin and guitar. Michael and Gertrude Troester are each spectacular soloists on their own and their performances together are truly not to be missed. They will present both solos and duets.

Nov. 1 - Joseph Mayes will be performing his annual concert. Will he be playing guitars, lutes, vihuellas it's always a mystery! No matter, he is certain to supply an evening of delightful music and quips.

Nov. 13 - The Shenandoah University Guitar Ensemble will present its Fall 2000 concert. Hearing a group of guitars playing together is always an interesting and enjoyable experience. You might even hear the first Christmas music of the season.

Nov. 18 - The semester finale will feature the Paco de Malaga Flamenco Music and Dance Troupe. This promises to be a spectacular and exciting event both musically and visually! This concert will be a fund- raiser for the Winchester Free Medical Clinic and there will be an admission fee for the public, but not for Shenandoah students, faculty and staff. It will be held in the Ohrstrom-Bryant Theater.

Preview of Spring Concerts - Lorenzo Michell, 1999 winner of the Guitar Foundation of America International Competition, will be performing on March 1, 2001.

All concerts (with the exception of the November 18 concert) are free and are in Goodson Chapel, beginning at 8:00 PM.
