Classical guitar study at Shenandoah Conservatory is a carefully
arranged progression of experiences designed to develop the student's
musical and technical potential. Private lessons and classes, along
with ensemble participation, recital attendance, listening assignments,
studio classes, and the many other musical experiences offered at
the Conservatory all contribute to the student's education.
Graduate
Assistantship in Guitar
Duties include assisting in the teaching of applied classical guitar
and guitar classes, as well as performing with and assisting in
the rehearsal of the Shenandoah Guitar Ensemble. The assistantship
is renewable for each year of full time study. Other general assistantships
are also available. Graduate assistants receive a full tuition waiver,
a stipend, plus a separtely funded $5000 cash performance award
(a combined value of over $15,000). The area offers many performance
opportunities and possibilities for earning extra income. Shenandoah
Conservatory awards graduate degrees in performance, music education,
conducting, and composition.
