Keyboard Division Home

With a reputation for excellence in musical instruction dating back to 1875, Shenandoah offers keyboard students opportunities for study in established artistic traditions leading to careers in performance, teaching, and other fields requiring musical competence. Shenandoah is the school for the serious keyboard student seeking superior instruction with artist-teachers in an ideal setting: a large conservatory within a small yet comprehensive university near one of the nation's major cultural centers, Washington, DC.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Graduates of Shenandoah's piano program can expect to pursue a variety of career opportunities including professional studio accompanying, vocal coaching, chamber music performance, private studio teaching, and professional rehearsal accompanying for opera, music theatre and dance companies. Graduates are also well prepared to pursue advanced degrees in performance, accompanying or piano pedagogy.

SPECIAL FEATURES

Shenandoah boasts over 100 concerts per year, many featuring  professional guest artists. The Keyboard Division regularly hosts guest artist recitals and masterclasses through its The World of the Piano series. In addition, keyboard faculty maintain a performance schedule that includes chamber music and solo performance.
