Accompanying

Dance
Accompanying Applicants: Ten minutes
of music in contrasting styles. Applicant must demonstrate proficiency
in sight-reading and/or improvisation, and may be asked to accompany
a dance technique class.

Piano
accompanying Applicants: One vocal
and one instrumental accompaniment. Applicant should supply
performers; please call the Admissions office in advance to
make other arrangements.
Composition
Conducting
-
All
applicants: Submit a face-to-the-camera
video (VHS or DVD only) audition of at least ten minutes duration,
conducting a rehearsal and/or performance (this recording must
begin with you verbally identifying yourself; speak briefly
about yourself and your musical background, and describe your
goals in pursuing graduate study in conducting); and
an audio recording (cassette or CD) of a representative concert;
and a résumé with a
repertoire list of actual works conducted. It is acceptable
to use a smaller ensemble (e.g. string quartet and
piano) performing a reduced version of a composition.
