Beginning Choral and Instrumental Conducting – Effective musicianship through the study of fundamentals of conducting, including patterns, baton technique, score reading, and rehearsal techniques for choral and instrumental music as these skills relate to teaching music performance ensembles. Students will acquire basic competency in rehearsing and conducting choral ensembles and combined vocal and instrumental school groups. In addition, the program shall provide instruction in business procedures, organization and management for large and small choral ensembles. One and one-half credits.

Focus will be primarily on choral conducting with additional emphasis on acquiring competency in rehearsing combined vocal and instrumental school groups. Prerequisite: MUCO 361.
