Earl Yowell, director

A select ensemble of undergraduate and graduate students, the Shenandoah Conservatory Percussion Ensemble performs repertoire of twentieth century composers. Utilizing a variety of keyboard mallet instruments, drums, timpani and accessories, the group performs music by Buck, Mancini, Colgrass, Lang and more.

The ensemble's progrmas have featured such notable artists as John R. Beck (Solo Xylophone artist with the Jack Daniels Ragtime Ensemble), Frederic Macarez (Solo Timpanist of the Orchestre de Paris), Steve Fidyk (Featured Solo Drumset artist with The Army Blues Jazz Ensemble) and Robert Van Sice (solo marimba artist with Adams Instruments of Holland). In May, 2000 the Percussion Ensemble toured to Brazil.
