A select ensemble of undergraduate
and graduate students, the Shenandoah Conservatory Percussion Ensemble
performs repertoire of twentieth century composers. Utilizing a
variety of keyboard mallet instruments, drums, timpani and accessories,
the group performs music by Buck, Mancini, Colgrass, Lang and more.
The ensemble's progrmas
have featured such notable artists as John R. Beck (Solo Xylophone
artist with the Jack Daniels Ragtime Ensemble), Frederic Macarez
(Solo Timpanist of the Orchestre de Paris), Steve Fidyk (Featured
Solo Drumset artist with The Army Blues Jazz Ensemble) and Robert
Van Sice (solo marimba artist with Adams Instruments of Holland).
In May, 2000 the Percussion Ensemble toured to Brazil.
